SAUSALITO, CA (KTVI)- The mother of legendary rapper/ hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur has died.
According to our partners at TMZ, Afeni Shakur Davis passed away Monday night after suffering from a heart attack at her home in Sausalito, California. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Shakur Davis was an activist and a member of The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense.
She was also the subject of ‘Dear Mama,’ a single on Tupac’s 1995 album, Me Against the World.
In the words of her late son, “Ain’t no woman alive that could take my mama’s place.”
She was 69.
